Coaching & Mentoring for Activists and Change Makers

You are doing your best in the struggle for liberation.

You have poured your heart and soul into this work. You’re an activist, an advocate, an agent for change. You care deeply about people and the planet. You shed light in every space occupied by darkness. But that light is starting to dim. You have begun feeling discouraged, overwhelmed, disconnected. As the work feels heavier, you find yourself asking:

How do I cope with the rage, grief helplessness, fear, crisis and trauma of these times?

How do I survive facing violence, racism, capitalism and rugged individualism driving our society?

How do I unlearn, protest, divest, resist and somehow find time for self-care without feeling guilty?

How do I keep going on as people are silenced, imprisoned, murdered, and disappeared?

How do I navigate hopelessness, anger, cynicism, and burnout when it feels like nothing is changing?

How do I know if anything I’m doing is even making a difference?

These oppressive systems will collapse, but you don't have to fall with them.

You can do revolutionary work fighting for change in a way that is sustainable for you.

So often we believe that we must totally exhaust ourselves to make change occur. But, we end up so lost and discouraged—particularly if we belong to the marginalized and oppressed groups that we are fighting for—that it makes it hard to remain in the work. When it seems like change isn’t happening at all, we become hopeless, despaired, and cynical. Whether you are a seasoned activist, a community leader, or someone getting involved for the first time, this offering is for you. Through our work together, we will explore:

  • Sustainability: Identify your gifts and skills, where to focus your efforts, and how you can best make a difference over time; prevent role strain and identity loss.

  • Self-care: Learn tools to prevent burnout and cope with despair, toxic guilt, and self-sacrifice in your efforts; reconnect with rest, joy, pleasure, and play without feeling guilty.

  • Community: Learn how to avoid individualism and isolation, build relationships, and identify your needs within your support networks.

  • Ignite: Reconnect with your “why”, regain confidence in your skills, and find meaning in your work again.

  • Honest inventory: Explore where colonial programming, capitalistic beliefs, and unrealistic or unsustainable expectations might be getting in your way.

Testimonials

“After years of protesting, community organizing and advocacy work, I started feeling cynical, burned out, and disillusioned. I was struggling to feel seen and heard in the movements, especially as a queer black woman. Working with Briana helped me shift lanes within the activism space and lean into my creativity, learn how to take breaks without feeling guilty, build community, find my voice and regain confidence in myself and my work."

— Alecia

“Prior to working with Briana, I felt frustrated, stuck, disregarded, and like I was struggling to accept some deep wounds and hard truths. Now that I've been working with the intuitive genius that she is (because she truly is!), I'm on a path where I feel whole, grounded, capable, and empowered. This has been such a time of growth and excitement for me, and I credit Briana with helping me get here."

— Emily

“When I came to Briana, I was completely exhausted, hopeless, and experiencing burnout in my job. Briana helped me make significant changes in my life, leaving a job that didn’t align with my values and ideas, untangling beliefs around money, time, and productivity that were keeping me stuck and having the courage to a start new job doing work that was meaningful to me. Working with Briana was so inspiring and truly life changing."
